Nathan McQuarrie

Mr. Nathan McQuarrie joined The Cohen Group in June 2025. He supports clients across the defense, emerging technology, and consumer goods sectors with regulatory and policy analysis, business development, and geopolitical risk assessment. Mr. McQuarrie is a member of the firm’s Australia and Southeast Asia practice.
Mr. McQuarrie joined The Cohen Group after completing his master’s degree in Public Affairs from Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs. At Princeton, Mr. McQuarrie served as a Harold W. Rosenthal Fellow at the Office of the US Trade Representative where he supported the office’s chief economist. He also interned at the US Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security and the National Counterintelligence and Security Center, part of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. Prior to Princeton, Mr. McQuarrie spent three years as an elementary school teacher in Arizona through Teach for America, during which he also volunteered with the Phoenix Committee on Foreign Relations.
Mr. McQuarrie graduated with department distinction from Brigham Young University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, with minors in Business, Statistics, and International Strategy and Diplomacy. Before his undergraduate degree, Mr. McQuarrie spent two years in the Philippines as a volunteer church missionary, where he became proficient in Tagalog.
Mr. McQuarrie’s analysis has appeared in The Diplomat and The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations’ Young Professionals Briefing Series.
