Sofia Karalekas

Ms. Sofia Karalekas joined The Cohen Group in June 2026, where she supports clients in the defense and aerospace, technology, and telecommunications sectors. Before joining The Cohen Group, Ms. Karalekas received her Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy degree from the Fletcher School at Tufts University. Throughout her time at Tufts, Ms. Karalekas focused her studies and research on international energy policy and international security, with her final capstone project examining opportunities for energy diversification initiatives within the US military at strategic Indo-Pacific installations. While completing her graduate degree, she also worked as a Political Risk Analyst for the Fletcher Political Risk Group and as an Assistant at the Fares Center for Eastern Mediterranean Studies.
Ms. Karalekas has internship experience in the defense sector, including Indo-Pacific security and political risk work. She is a former intern with United States Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM), where she worked on foreign disaster relief and risk analysis projects for US allies and partners. She also interned with the United States Army War College contributing to research on US and PRC security cooperation initiatives with small states in South Asia and Oceania.
Ms. Karalekas graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in political science and human rights from the University of Connecticut. She is from the United States.
