Fellowship Program – Middle East Experience

The Cohen Group’s Middle East Practice is seeking Fellowship candidates who bring a strong Middle East skillset to join the team in Washington, DC to advise clients on geopolitical, economic, and regulatory issues impacting their business interests in the region. Ideal candidates will have a strong interest in Middle East foreign policy and business issues. The Cohen Group’s Fellowship program is a one-year, full-time, paid program with benefits including health insurance. This position may lead to a permanent job within the firm upon excellent performance.

  • Understanding of Middle East foreign policy and business relations, economy, and geopolitical issues.
  • Professional working or higher proficiency in Arabic language.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience living, working, or studying in the Middle East region.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with regional contacts in Arabic language to conduct outreach, arrange client and internal engagements, and support senior level travel to the region.
  • Advanced degree (e.g., MA) or equivalent practical experience in relevant field, such as Middle East studies, international affairs, or political science.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supporting and leading primary open-source research, including in Arabic language.
  • Developing research materials to provide TCG’s senior members and internal teams with analysis of regional developments.
  • Tracking and providing analysis of major news developments and broader geopolitical trends for clients.
  • Developing written products to provide clients with an understanding of how economic, political, and regulatory trends impact their global business.
  • Conducting working-level outreach to relevant stakeholders in support of clients and in response to requests regarding their strategic decisions and day-to-day operations.
  • Developing creative ideas to support team members and advise clients on deliverables, including but not limited to political, economic, and regulatory risk factors that impact business interests in the Middle East, as well as markets around the world.
  • Developing comprehensive qualitative and quantitative briefing materials for clients, including packaging market analysis, stakeholder mapping, engagement strategies, and regulatory developments in visually appealing ways using Microsoft Office programs.
  • Attending and reporting on events and webinars relevant to client interests.

Compensation varies and is commensurate with skills and experience level.
Base salary (US-based Fellows): $80,000/year – $95,000/year
