Mr. Zach Mayes joined The Cohen Group in March of 2023. He supports clients in the defense, telecommunications, and manufacturing industries. As a member of the Defense Practice, he has advised clients on international and domestic market entry and exit, federal funding pursuits, engagement strategies, partnership building, geopolitical risk mitigation, and government affairs.

Prior to joining The Cohen Group, Mr. Mayes worked as a Senior Supply Chain Industrial Engineer at The Boeing Company. He spent four years focused on international supply chains for Boeing Commercial Airplanes with experience in China, Turkey, India, Japan, Sweden, Mexico, Germany, Malaysia, and the United States. In this role, he created and managed detailed operational plans for startup and shutdown of Boeing supplier sites. Prior to this, he conducted performance readiness analysis on both public and private aerospace suppliers in Asia, Europe, and North America to gauge operational risk based on capital equipment capacity, staffing, supply chain, business systems, and environmental compliance. Mr. Mayes began his career at Boeing as an Industrial Engineer focused on 777 wing assembly.

Mr. Mayes worked for Senator Maria Cantwell’s 2018 reelection campaign. He received his Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and a dual Master of Arts in International Business and Policy from the Georgetown Walsh School of Foreign Service and McDonough School of Business.
