The Cohen Group's Property & Real Estate efforts are focused on opportunities involving the Federal government, current or former Federal facilities, and international projects. TCG participates in projects as either an adviser or a project partner. TCG is sought out by property developers and managers to assist them in their pursuit of opportunities in the Federal government space or that involve current or former Federal property. We also are sought out by property developers to assist them in projects internationally, from Europe to Latin America to Asia, especially China where TCG has special expertise. TCG's Property and Real Estate Practice builds on the experience gained during service in government and in the private sector. Secretary Cohen was instrumental as a Senator in enactment of , legislation to promote public-private partnerships to attract private financing to build and operate housing and other facilities for government use. As Secretary of Defense, he refined, expanded and implemented this initiative, launching major public-private partnerships in military housing, as well as in utilities servicing federal properties. Gen. Joseph Ralston, as Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, and Gen. Paul Kern in several roles, including as Commander of the Army Materiel Command, also have been active in developing and executing policies for such public-private partnerships for military property. Other members of the property and real estate practice group include James Bodner and Brian Knapp. Secretary Cohen has been the keynote speaker at the Real Estate Summit and was the keynote speaker at the most recent Real Estate Roundtable; both events bring together leaders in property development and finance in the U.S. and overseas. |
