Africa
Africa is a continent of opportunities. In 2015, Africa will provide 25 percent of American oil imports. There are also opportunities made possible by the African Growth and Opportunities Act, the Millennium Challenge Account and the Group of Eight's focus on Africa. The Cohen Group has the expertise and the capacity to help you meet the challenges of doing business in Africa. The principals of The Cohen Group have been involved in Africa for decades. As Senator and Secretary of Defense, William Cohen worked to broaden relations between the U.S. and Africa - including South Africa, Nigeria and the Maghreb countries. As Commander of the U.S. European Command, General Joseph Ralston led efforts on security, peace, economic investment and development for all African countries. During his career with the U.S. Department of State, Ambassador Marc Grossman worked on political, economic and democracy issues throughout the region, paying special attention to North Africa. While with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization as Secretary General, Lord Robertson directed the international organization on its efforts in the Maghreb region and beyond.
Other senior members of the firm have participated in election monitoring in South Africa, as well as supervising the efforts of United Nations Relief and Works Agency missions across the countries of southern Africa. The Cohen Group is familiar with the customs and cultures of the many peoples of the African continent.
The Cohen Group's experience includes providing strategic guidance and crisis management on matters ranging from energy and extractive materials, infrastructure, security, telecommunications, agriculture and trade to technology, health, branding and meta-branding. |
